This term I’ve been lucky enough to take the Writing for Fashion class taught by fashion editor for Portland Monthly Magazine, Eden Dawn Killen. I’m hoping my close proximity to someone who already has a foot in the editorial world will be to my advantage. Not only will I be able to shmooze up to who I’m hoping will be my future boss, but I’ll be able to show her all the talents and skills I posses that could be useful to her and her publication.
My hopes is that by the end of the term, I’ll have helped her create a stunning final piece; a visually appealing magazine that informs, entertains and inspires it’s readers. I hope it will be a piece she would be proud to put her name on and one that will be the focal point of my portfolio. I’d like to get out of this a great recommendation and reference for my abilities and a job in the art department of the Portland Monthly Magazine. Keep your finger’s crossed for me!
