Heard of Filly? If not this is a great introduction collection for you. If you have, and love Emily Christensen’s work as much as I do, then read on for a sneak peak into the inspiration for her new Spring 2012 collection debuting this week. 

Spring 2012 was inspired by distance and the warm gusts of foreign wind. Our heroine is an expat, living in a long rambling house with only a view of the horizon and the sound of the waves. She dresses in the texture and colors of the country and sea: linen, cotton and flax in riotous floral, dune, cantaloupe, cream, coral, and seashell.  

Spring 2012 contains a bouquet of dresses, skirts and blouses made from reclaimed linen, rayon/flax floral, and Japanese screen cotton. With no more than thirty pieces per style, Spring 2012, is a precious find.
