Filly’s Limited Edition Spring 2012 collection is now up on Shop.Filly. With no more than 30 pieces per style this collection is a precious find.

See my earlier post for a sneak peak into the inspiration behind this gorgeous collection.

Heard of Filly? If not this is a great introduction collection for you. If you have, and love Emily Christensen’s work as much as I do, then read on for a sneak peak into the inspiration for her new Spring 2012 collection debuting this week.

Spring 2012 was inspired by distance and the warm gusts of foreign wind. Our heroine is an expat, living in a long rambling house with only a view of the horizon and the sound of the waves. She dresses in the texture and colors of the country and sea: linen, cotton and flax in riotous floral, dune, cantaloupe, cream, coral, and seashell.

Spring 2012 contains a bouquet of dresses, skirts and blouses made from reclaimed linen, rayon/flax floral, and Japanese screen cotton. With no more than thirty pieces per style, Spring 2012, is a precious find.

Spring has been kicking and clawing it’s way to the Northwest, but winter has a death grip on us. We’ve seen a few sporadic sunny days, but none have stayed for long.
If spring can’t make it through, I’m all for summer just swooping on in. Any warm, bright sunny day will make me happy. I bought this gorgeous burgundy dress from Forever 21 and she’s begging to be worn. SO hurry up warm weather. Just kick winter in the balls already and call it good.
Orange. This is the lip color to try this spring. A little too orange for you? Do a tonal look with a pink or red-orange color on top lip, or on the inner part of lip. Be bold ladies and try bright.

Love these pants and I want to snuggle up on the couch with a mug of cocoa in that sweater. Going to go find me something like this outfit for the last of spring’s cold days.
Behind the Scenes Video of Portland Monthly’s 2012 Spring Fashion Shoot.
Eden Dawn (fashion editor of PoMo for those of you that don’t know) is Portland’s Anna Wintour… in editorial amazing-ness not personality icy-ness. I have had the pleasure of being instructed by her and have a secret platonic crush on her (not so secret now though since i’m telling you). I wish I was her.
This spring I’m on the look out for gorgeous sundresses with a classic look that I could use for many springs and summers to come. I especially want something lacy. In LOVE with lace.
